is a community based organisation founded by Odid!Productions to assist in the campaign
to rid South Africa of homophobia, hate crimes and the scurge correctional
rape.
Founder and Creative Director Odidi ODIDIVA Mfenyana, believes the root of homophobia
to be society's general mysogeny, traditional gender roles that define the
female and feminine as weaker, subservient to and the possession of men.
Men
that are feminine or perceived to take the female sexual/gender role are thus
victimized for defyling the pedigree of Men. Women that are masculine or
perceived as taking the male sexual/gender role are brutally victimized for
daring to think they can be equal to men.
Influenced by the Ball Culture of New York City's underground
LGBTI scene, Odidi Mfenyana found the perfect vehicle to showcase the diversity
and fluidity of human sexuality and to throw "shade"on outdated
gender roles and stereotypes that encourage and maintain bigotry and mysogny into
the 21st Century.
This initiative is dedicated to the millions of women and men who
suffer under the oppression of mysogny and homophobia.
